Given the parlous state of federal politics, it's important to hold whichever of the major parties forms government in the House of Representatives to account.
The Conservative Party's South Australian Senate candidate Rikki Lambert says whether you traditionally vote for the Liberals or Labor, you can still do that in the lower house of federal parliament, but can also vote for your Conservatives Senate candidate in the Senate.
But as he explained to Hills Radio's Alan Musa, if we can get enough Conservative Party Senators elected, the major parties will have to pass legislation that meets the common sense test.
