Australian Conservatives candidate for the seat of Mount Gambier Gregg Bissett has detailed his reasons for running in the March 17 election.
He's told The Border Watch newspaper, "My reason for running is simply to ensure Mount Gambier has a sound economic environment that provides real opportunities, that we get the services that we need and to make sure that jobs and education opportunities exist for our young people."
"I have owned, managed and developed businesses and am concerned about what I see as poor management of this state especially for regional areas like ours where health, roads and services are just disintegrating from lack of government investment," he said.
"Mount Gambier has been overlooked by successive governments and has not realised its potential as an economic powerhouse for the state."
"Strong representation, innovative ideas and practical policies will be provided by myself and the Australian Conservatives team if I am elected," he concluded.
