Anti-domestic violence charity White Ribbon is in a parlous financial state — in the red by more than $840,000, its latest financial report reveals and Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says he's not surprised.
The Daily Telegraph reports, while the charity boosted revenue from fundraising by $915,000 during the financial year to June 2018, it still wasn’t enough to put it in the black.
The not-for-profit spent a whopping $7 million on staff and suppliers compared with $4.9 million the year before when it reported a $298,000 profit.
Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News there are two reasons why the charity is in trouble.
