That's a question often asked of Senate candidates and as South Australian Senate candidate Rikki Lambert explains, Senators don't represent a single electorate, but the whole state.
And no matter which major party forms government in the House of Representatives, it is the elected members of the Senate who get to decide whether that government's legislation is going to pass into law.
