We won't split company tax plan: Cormann

June 27, 2018

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann is serious about getting the remainder of the Turnbull government's 10-year company tax cut plan through the Senate this week after successfully steering personal income tax reductions into law last week.

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi admits that company tax cuts aren’t popular with the electorate but they are necessary to sustain Australia’s international competitiveness.

Parliament is sitting for the final week before the long winter break and the "Super Saturday" of by-elections on July 28.

Senator Bernardi has told 2GB’s Luke Grant, he’s hopeful Senator Cormann will  manage to get the support of eight out of the 10 crossbenchers he needs to pass the package.
