Uni merger talks could save civilisation

June 20, 2018

Adelaide University and the University of South Australia have entered into merger talks looking to move towards the Kevin Durant model of super universities.

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says that could be the circuit-breaker for the creation of a new course on Western Civilisation, sponsored by the Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation after the Australian National University withdrew from negotiations to establish one earlier this month.

Senator Cory Bernardi has told Flow FM's Wayne Phillips the ANU’s decision not to host a course on Western Civilisation, is just, "another example of how detached universities are from society", and he’s calling for "significant reform in the university sector".
