Turnbull trumps Dutton 48-35 in snap Liberal leadership spill

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has defeated Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton in a snap leadership spill called this morning.

But as Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi sees it, this is certainly not the end of Malcolm Turnbull's political headaches.

After months of speculation, disquiet and back-flips over the Prime Minister's signature National Energy Guarantee policy, the Liberal backbench has been getting jumpy.

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News Malcolm Turnbull's government is still in a lot of trouble.
