Identity politics, globalisation and mass migration are all contributing to a cultural anxiety which the major parties either ignore or exacerbate.
As aggressive protest movements (like those pictured) shout loud and hard to redefine Western culture and civilisation, Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine outlined the above challenges as those that need to be seriously addressed.
In her wide-ranging keynote address at this month's inaugural Queensland Conservative Party conference, Ms Devine eloquently spelled out the reasons for many of the problems facing Australia.
She implied that the Conservative Party's aim for the senate is a better strategy, offering more coherent policy platform than the protest parties of recent history.
"A vote for the Australian Conservatives is NOT a vote for Bill Shorten," Ms Devine emphasised:
