Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says he's in favour of state government's pulling rank on local councils to encourage development in the face of left-wing opposition to economic expansion.
But the South Australian Senator has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News, he thinks big councils and council amalgamations don't necessarily deliver the best for outcomes ratepayers because of the principle of subsidiarity.
