The pressure's on Malcolm Turnbull: Bernardi

August 03, 2018

With last weekend's Super Saturday by-elections behind us where a massive 40.5% of voters DIDN'T vote for either Labor or the Coalition, the pressure on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has increased markedly.

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says there aren't many options open to the Coalition.

The majority of voters don't like Malcolm Turnbull, but Bill Shorten isn't Mr Popularity either.

So the question for the Liberals is, "Can Malcolm Turnbull take us to victory?"

Bill Shorten's Labor leadership is now relatively secure with aspirant Anthony Albanese licking his wounds following Labor's by-election wins.

Senator Bernardi says it now falls to Prime Minister to convince the party room he should stay in the nation's top political job.
