The Pandora's box of pill testing: Lambert

February 05, 2019

The Conservative Party's South Australian Senate candidate Rikki Lambert says pill-testing at music festivals is not the way to deal with the drug problem, after recent suggestions that the practice be legalised nationally.

Drug-use advocates are urging the government to adopt pill testing services at music festivals after drug-related deaths and close calls around Australia in recent months.

Rikki has told Adelaide radio station FIVEaa while he can understand the intention of a pill testing service is one of harm minimisation, he still doesn't think it's a good idea because it's completely the wrong way to go about educating young Australians about the dangers of drugs.
