Whatever happens at the next federal election, it is beyond doubt that either the Labor Party or Malcolm Turnbull's Liberal/National Coalition will form government in the lower house of federal parliament, The House of Representatives.
But that doesn't mean the millions of conservative Australians who want a stronger Australian economy, lower cost of living and a more civil society should give up hope.
Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says the party's primary focus at the next election will be to get as many Conservative Party senators elected as possible so that they can exert stronger influence on the government's legislative agenda.
A number of Conservative Party Senate candidates have already been announced in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, with more to come in the next couple of weeks in Western Australia and Tasmania.
Senator Bernardi has told Kel Richards on Sydney radio station 2CH that he can list a number of important Conservative Party achievements since the party was founded just 18 months ago.
