Stop 19,000 premature deaths a year: Bernardi

Legalising nicotine vaping in Australia is a common-sense solution to the problem of 19,000 Australians dying prematurely because of smoking-related diseases.

Australian Conservatives leader Cory Bernardi says, “It seems the majority of our politicians are held captive and beholden to a tiny subsection of the parliament that’s refusing to contemplate something which is a proven harm-reduction strategy”.

“Nicotine vaping has been embraced all around the world as a way of helping cigarette addicted adults kick the smoking habit and it’s time for it to be legalised here in Australia, not just to save the lives of those that are currently addicted to smoking but also to prevent people dying from smoking-related deaths in the future”.

A new study from the University College of London shows conclusively that nicotine vaping helps people quit regular cigarettes.

Senator Bernardi has told ABC Radio Adelaide’s Peter Goers vaping is a far healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes.
