Shorten's negative gearing changes spell recession: Symond

Labor leader Bill Shorten's negative gearing policy would be a "nuclear bomb" that could tip the economy into recession according to Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond - and Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says the policy has, "flies all over it".

The Australian Financial Review reports, Mr Shorten says Labor, if elected, will restrict future negative gearing to new homes only. 

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News Labor's plan would be a double hit to Australian investors and self-funded retirees and will seriously hit investment markets.
