Shorten falls short on border strength: Bernardi

February 22, 2019

Bill Shorten's capitulation to the Greens and the left-wing independents on border security demonstrates that Labor can't be trusted to keep our borders strong, according to Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi.

It appears that the game all along for Phelps, Shorten and the Greens was not to get the illegal arrivals medical treatment, but to get them to the mainland - but Scott Morrison's political parry is to move those deemed in need to be moved to Christmas Island instead.

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News, while Labor, the Greens and the Left are all crying "foul" over the government's move, it points to Bill Shorten's lack of leadership.
