Senator Cory Bernardi slammed NSW Labor Senator Sam Dastyari's inadequate statement of 'resignation' to the Senate today, saying the senator ought to have resigned from the Senate altogether.
"Today is the day they need to shanghai Sam Dastyari out of this place," SBS reported that Senator Bernardi said on his way into Parliament House on Thursday.
"It's not strike one, strike two or strike three. He has a repeated pattern of being captured by people that are very, very close to the Chinese government."
"You don't have to be Einstein to put two and two together to recognise there is a serious problem," Senator Bernardi said.
"We know that there are politicians, or at least one, who have had personal accounts paid by Chinese billionaires with very close connections to the communist party."
In the video below, Senator Bernardi outlined to the Senate his case against Senator Dastyari. Also below, senator Bernardi's motion outlines his demand that Australian senators have sole allegiance to Australia - the motion has been postponed to next week.
