Last weekend’s vote by the Liberal Federal Council to privatise the ABC is impractical and shows how out of touch the government is with its own grassroots, according to Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi.
Senator Bernardi has told Ashleigh Gillon on Sky News, while the two-to-one vote was an attempt to rein-in the ABC’s left-wing political bias and stop its $1 billion annual drain on the federal budget, it’s too big for a privatisation which would cripple the existing commercial networks.
