Political hopefuls avoid scrutiny

March 08, 2018

Australian Conservatives candidate for Mount Gambier Gregg Bisset has lashed out at SA-Best candidate Kate Amoroso and Labor candidate Isabel Scriven for evading public scrutiny this election period.

Mr Bissett slammed the two candidates for not committing to attend the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce Great State Q&A on the eve of the state election, with organisers cancelling the event as a result.

“It is extremely disappointing that SA-Best and Labor are not prepared to put themselves front and centre to the people of Mount Gambier,” he said.

“I have attended every forum and was looking forward to this one as I am passionate about our area. Labor has not been to one forum and it is typical of Xenophon’s SA-Best to avoid scrutiny,” he concluded.

The forum, scheduled three days before the March 17 poll, was organised in order to gauge the  views of all eight candidates for the seat of Mount Gambier.
