Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi has offered Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull (pictured) some free advice following the Liberal Party's disastrous outings at last weekend's Super Saturday by-elections.
New research shows the Liberal Party's traditional "grey army" base is deserting it for the minor parties which attracted more than 40% of the vote across all five by-elections last weekend.
Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News the Liberal Party's fortunes look desperate in the House of Representatives (where government is formed) but the Conservative Party presents as an effective protest vote in the Senate.
