The Morrison government will renew the centrepiece of Tony Abbott's climate change policy, the Emissions Reduction Fund, with a $2 billion injection over 10 years, as it outlines a plan for meeting Australia's 2030 targets under the Paris Agreement.
Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says the announcement is an exercise in futility because it won't get one lefty's vote.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the move yesterday as part of a multi-prong package that includes new measures on energy efficiency, hydro power and electric vehicles that are understood to be worth nearly another $1.5 billion.
Senator Bernardi told Paul Murray Live on Sky News if the move appeases anyone, it certainly won't be a Coalition voter.
