Monash Forum calls “unusual”: Bernardi

April 07, 2018

Calls from a ‘ginger’ group of more than 20 MPs within Malcolm Turnbull’s Coalition Government to spend $4 billion of taxpayers’ money building a coal-fired power station have been labelled “unusual” by Australian Conservatives leader Cory Bernardi.

The Monash Forum believes the government should build a $4 billion coal-fired Hazelwood 2.0 power station in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley while exploring further sites for coal-fired plants.

Senator Bernardi has told Sky News, this type of “unusual” behaviour is becoming more the norm for governments of all persuasions which he believes should get out of the way of the free market.
