Australian Conservatives' founder Cory Bernardi says the party needs to convert its strong membership numbers to votes.
The Australian Conservatives membership remains the country’s third largest political force.
He's told Sky News the post-election defection of South Australian Upper House member Dennis Hood to the Liberal Party is disappointing but, "“It is what it is and I can’t change it”.
“If I can’t control other people’s actions, then it’s a matter for them,” he said.
But he insisted, “We’re going to continue to pursue our principled approach to politics. Stick with us, we will achieve our goals. We just need to have the resolve to see them through.”
