ABC poll finds that 90% of Australians want its funding cut

September 26, 2018

A new poll of more than 7,700 people has found that 90 per cent of respondents want funding for the ABC cut.

Conservative Party policy is for the ABC and SBS to be merged and trimmed down to just two national television and two national radio networks.

Party leader Cory Bernardi says the ABC is "Bloated, blatantly leftist and consistently in breach of its charter".

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News, while he supports the ABC, the blatant bias and the recent announcement of a merger between Channel 9 and Fairfax media is further evidence the it has too much reach and broadcast capacity in Australia.
