Keep Australia Day where it is: Bernardi

October 05, 2018

The cultural battle to keep Australia Day on January the 26th continues, with the Prime Minister recently weighing into the debate and saying that the day should not move.

The PM's position follows Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi's long-running battles with the Greens - including this exchange in the Senate - to defend Australia Day.

However, the Conservatives have concerns with what Scott Morrison suggested as an alternative.

Senator Bernardi has told Sydney radio station 2CH's Kel Richards, the celebration of our nation doesn't need to be diluted with any more tokenism than we already have.
