Katter to introduce anti-PC legislation

June 15, 2018

Queenslanders will be protected from the use of “politically correct” gender neutral language under new legislation to be introduced to the Queensland Parliament this year – a move welcomed by Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi.

Katter Australian Party leader Robbie Katter today announced the plan to introduce the legislation after The Courier-Mail last week revealed university students were being marked down for using gender specific language such as “mankind.”

Mr Katter said politically correct terms had “crept in” to society and his legislation would protect anyone who wanted to use gender-based language.

Also included in his legislation is protection against “frivolous” discrimination claims that stem from using appropriate gender-based language.

Senator Bernardi has told Ben Fordham on Sky News he’s disappointed the legislation has become necessary but he supports any push against mindless political correctness.
