Peter Dutton is already doing the media rounds, out and about, selling himself as an alternative leader to Malcolm Turnbull, despite yesterday's failed leadership bid.
Conservative leader Senator Cory Bernardi is convinced Malcolm Turnbull's prime ministership is all but over.
Mr Dutton appeared on Triple M radio this morning and detailed a policy agenda calling for the GST to be taken off power bills for families, pensioners and self-funded retirees, as well a a royal commission into electricity and fuel companies.
Senator Bernardi has told Andrew Bolt on Sky News, while he believes Tony Abbott has a better chance of beating Labor's Bill Shorten, if the Liberals can return to their traditional principles, they have a good chance of winning the next federal election.
However, this week's latest round of Canberra leadership instability has demonstrated the vital importance of an immovable anchor for Australian values - Cory Bernardi and electing more Conservative Party senators in the Senate.
