Hypocrisy writ large: Bernardi

April 16, 2019

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says threats from Rugby Australia to terminate the contract of star player Israel Folau for a social media post is a clear case of hypocrisy.

In a statement issued Monday, Rugby Australia said the player had "committed a high-level breach of the Professional Players' Code of Conduct warranting termination of his employment contract," over his social media post which said "drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators" — adding they should "repent".

The South Australian Senator told Paul Murray Live on Sky News, this is all about principle.
