Who are you preferencing?
Your votes on your own ballot paper determine where your votes go, nowhere else (There was a system in the past that allowed parties to send preferences to other parties in the Senate, but that is now gone).
Parties will give advice to our voters on a How-to-Vote card handed out at booths on polling day. These How-to-Vote cards indicate who parties would prefer their supporters vote for, but whether they follow that card is up to them.
Those How-to-Vote cards and decisions are only finalised in the weeks before the election.
Candidates will win or lose based on their own performance, not on what parties put on How-to-Vote cards.
As a genuine, principled conservative party, we will always prefer and support candidates that are more conservative than the alternatives.
