Halve immigration, stop the rorts: Bailey

July 03, 2018

Conservative party policy is for Australia’s immigration intake to be immediately halved.

Conservatives' Senate candidate in Victoria, Kevin Bailey, says we also need to ensure that Australia is in control of the visa system - both domestically and in overseas high-risk countries where there is corruption.

Mr Bailey says asylum, family-reunion and student eligibility for visas should all be reviewed along with the qualifying criteria for citizenship and on top of the cut to immigration numbers.

He says wholesale reforms are also needed in Australia’s rorted visa system.
