Far from having what it claims would be a mandate to implement its proposed tax increases should it win government this month, Bill Shorten's Labor Party would not have moral authority to ram its changes through the Senate according to Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi.
Senator Bernardi has told ABC Radio, historically, Labor have not respected electoral "mandates" of previous Coalition governments and they need to respect that letting people keep more of their own money is fundamental to a successful economy.
