Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi has called for NSW Senator and former NSW State MP Mehreen Faruqi (pictured) to get out of public life, after she claimed Muslims are a race.
Senator Faruqi was reacting to a motion by Senator Bernardi calling for the position of Racial Discrimination Commissioner to either be left vacant or scrapped because of the dreadful record of previous Commissioners in actively encouraging race relations complaints.

Senator Bernardi has told Sydney radio station 2GB Senator Faruqi sprouts poisonous ideas and has no business being in public life.
