The Conservative Party's South Australian Senate Candidate Rikki Lambert has published an open letter to all South Australians concerned about the future of the Murray-Darling Basin.
"As the drought bites upstream, the future of the Murray-Darling Basin comes back into focus.
I grew up on the Murray River - farmers (and the country towns & regional cities that support them) need a healthy Murray to survive, let alone grow.
7½ billion people need more food and we should be talking about how we can do more with the water we get – if not add more water.
Australians are resilient, innovative and our patriotic forebears built for the future.
The next 6-year Senate term will cover the conclusion of the Basin Plan, and most likely the major parties won’t win the 6th and final SA senate seat.
Thus far the glass-half-empty approach has left us parched.
I see a glass that's half full."
Vote Conservatives in the Senate at the next federal election to secure the future of the Murray-Darling Basin.
