Party and Policy
Australian Conservatives are seeking a return to principled, common sense politics. Our decision making process and policy positions are informed by our principles and the feedback of our members through member surveys. If you would like to have a say on our policies, become a member today.
We continue to release our policy statements through this website after internal party processes. If you are seeking additional information about a specific area of policy that is not currently available here we encourage you to look at our founder, Senator Cory Bernardi’s website. For over a decade, Senator Bernardi has been a principled conservative voice and has documented his position in his weekly emails and through the publication of seven books. Please refer to www.corybernardi.com for more information.
Australian Conservatives is registering in every State and Territory to ensure conservatives have a national and united voice. Our State Divisions page has the current status of Party registration for each State and Territory of Australia.
In July 2017 we released that we had 14,000 members nationwide to confirm we are a genuine national grassroots movement. Australian Conservatives will not disclose the number of members that it has in any given state or territory, nor nationwide.
Thank you for your interest. Our members are eligible to nominate as candidates as well as participate in choosing a suitable candidate for their local area. We also offer regular opportunities for members and supporters to volunteer as part of our team. To be kept informed please subscribe to our contact list or become a member of Australian Conservatives.
Thank you for your interest in lending your talents to support Australian Conservatives. We do not have any advertised vacancies at this time. You would be best served, if you are not already, to become a member to be notified of opportunities that arise in future.
Possibilities and Speculation
Information on endorsed candidates will appear at www.conservatives.org.au when they have completed the selection process. Until such time they cannot be considered an endorsed Australian Conservatives representative.
Australian Conservatives was formed to unite the conservative voice across Australia and to gain parliamentary representation. We continue that mission and will consider amalgamations with Parties that agree with Our Principles.
We will not divulge conversations we are having with people who might join Australian Conservatives. Senator Cory Bernardi has been clear that the door is open to anyone to join us if they agree with Our Principles - members of parliament included. If someone is joining us, we will make an announcement when we have an agreement.
Not officially, although a number of groups and individuals have similar principles to our own.
Although a number of groups and individuals have similar principles to our own there are no formal affiliations at this time.

Potentially. As a registered political party under the Australian Electoral Act, contributions (ie donations and/or membership fees) may be tax-deductible. Contributions over $2 and totalling no more than $1,500 per taxpayer in a taxation year may be tax deductible. Taxpayers should seek and rely upon independent advice.
We are supported by everyday Australians who have chipped in to help restore conservative principles to our nation.

Not necessarily. Some people choose to donate to Australian Conservatives but prefer not to be a formal member of a political party. We respect that decision, so we treat donations as separate from party membership application fees.
If you want $25 of your donation to be treated as a membership, we prefer that you use the membership signup process here. Otherwise, please email email@example.com about part or all of your donation becoming a membership fee.
Australian Conservatives prioritises communication by e-mail, preferably via the Contact Us form on our website. This enables us to ensure we respond as promptly and specifically as possible to your query. We will make return telephone calls if you provide your telephone number and if this is the most appropriate way to get back to you.
We look forward to hearing from you. Due to the volume of such requests, we ask that you put your proposal in writing with as much detail and personal contact information as possible by submitting it here. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
