Clive Palmer’s bid for the Senate is a recipe for more chaos in Canberra, according to Conservative Party Senate Candidate Lyle Shelton.
“Queenslanders who are rightly disillusioned with the major parties don’t have to vote for chaos and extremism. The Australian Conservatives are the sensible minor party option for the Senate," he said.
“Erratic and unstable minor parties led by colourful personalities have not helped the cause of conservative politics. We’ve been to this rodeo before, complete with State of Origin great. It did not turn out well!" Mr Shelton continued.
“For the first time in many years, voters have the option of a genuine, principled conservative party in the Senate. Australian Conservatives will take on the Greens whose influence has caused both major parties to go weak on Australian values and energy security,” Mr Shelton said.
Mr Shelton said a recent Galaxy poll had Australian Conservatives polling just one point below Mr Palmer, despite the fact he had already spent tens of millions of dollars.
