The Senate’s Report on religious schools released yesterday indicates religious schools will be fundamentally undermined by the Commonwealth Parliament.
Dr Greg Walsh, the Conservatives lead candidate for the NSW Upper House and author of ‘Religious Schools and Discrimination Law’, condemned the Senate Report.

"The amendments almost passed by Parliament last year would have forced religious schools, universities and organisations to violate their religious convictions," Dr Walsh said.
"They had the support of Labor, Liberal, Nationals and Greens politicians demonstrating the contempt the established political parties have for religious liberty, equality and many other human rights," he continued.
"The Coalition Senators recommended that the matter should wait until the report from the Australian Law Reform Commission due in mid-2019, so it's an obvious Coalition tactic to avoid addressing the issue before the federal election," Dr Walsh said.
"The Coalition no longer has the courage to stand up for religious liberty, free speech, freedom of association and parental rights. The Labor and Greens Senators support for the amendments is also not surprising considering their ongoing failure to respect religious liberty, free speech and other human rights," he went on.
"Voters who value freedom of speech and freedom of religion should take out third-party insurance by voting for the Australian Conservatives in the New South Wales State election on March 23 and in the Senate at the federal election in May," Dr Walsh concluded.
