Conservatives uniting in Victoria

August 30, 2017

The 3AW Rumour File received a leak this morning that members of the Victorian Branch of Australian Christians have voted to disband the branch and join the Australian Conservative Party in Victoria.

State Parliamentary Leader Dr Rachel Carling-Jenkins confirmed to 3AW that many people in Victoria were joining Australian Conservatives because uniting under one banner makes sense.  “Conservatives across our state (Victoria) are finding out that the better way forward for Victoria is to join together as one united voice”, she said.

You can listen to Dr Carling-Jenkins responding to the news in a Melbourne 3AW radio news bulletin by clicking here.

Outgoing Australian Christians Victorian director Jeff Reaney confirmed to AAP that the state branch would 'wrap up' tomorrow, Friday 31 August. AAP reported that it was expected many members would join Australian Conservatives.
