Conservatives take on National Party MP over free-speech exclusion zones

May 04, 2018

The Australian Conservatives are questioning why a National Party MP wants to muzzle free speech.

Australian Conservatives' Federal Communications Director Lyle Shelton says he is surprised by New South Wales Upper House National Party MP Trevor Khan’s suggestion that the New South Wales government should bring in legislation establishing exclusion zones around abortion clinics to prevent the perfectly legal exercise of free speech.

Mr Shelton has told Samantha Maiden on Sky News Live he thinks restricting free speech is never a good thing.
