Morrison's 'surprise' PM win might be short-lived

September 03, 2018

Stories are emerging that now Prime Minister Morrison might not have been as surprised a beneficiary from the downfall of Malcolm Turnbull as first thought.

The Conservative Party believes the change of leadership will change little when it comes to policy outcomes and is bound to be short-lived before yet another leadership makeover.

The ABC reports Mr Morrison’s backers were actively working for his ascension to party leader after a report in The Saturday Paper suggested Mr Morrison’s backers used a hapless Peter Dutton as an “unwitting stooge” to secure the leadership.

The Conservative Party's South Australian Senate candidate Rikki Lambert has told FIVEaa's Andrew Reimer, Scott Morrison's leadership win will be short-lived, and the case is growing stronger every day to stabilise parliament by electing more Conservative Party senators.
