Calls for freedom of religion legislation

July 11, 2018

Several MPs are calling for a religious discrimination act ahead of the release of a review into religious freedoms.

Recommendations from the review led by former Liberal attorney-general Philip Ruddock will be made public following government consideration - and the Conservative Party says it's a move in the right direction.

The latest comments about religious protections were made by Social Services Minister Dan Tehan, and has received support from several MPs and Queensland Senate candidate for the Conservative Party, Lyle Shelton.
