Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi has officially welcomed His Royal Highness, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and Her Royal Highness, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to Australia.
A welcoming motion co-sponsored by fellow monarchist, Liberal senator Dean Smith, passed on the voices.
The motion also commended Prince Harry for his initiative in creating the Invictus Games and the royal couple for their support for injured veterans.
It wished all the competitors from the 18 participating nations well in the 4th Invictus Games, to be held in Sydney between 20 October and 27 October this year.
It also congratulated the couple on the announcement from Kensington Palace that they are expecting their first child.
Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News he's not at all surprised the high level of public affection and admiration for the younger members of the Royal Family is seriously frustrating the Australian Republican Movement's bandanna-wearing Chairman Peter FitzSimons.
