Conservative Party leader and South Australian Senator Cory Bernardi raised a matter of public importance in the Senate this afternoon on, "The need for the government to take immediate and meaningful steps to reduce electricity prices for all Australians."
Senator Bernardi noted the federal government's preoccupation with remaining a party to the Paris Climate pact condemns Australia to higher priced electricity because it encourages subsidised and unreliable renewable energy generation.
In pointing out the Paris Climate pact is a $100 billion a year international rort, Senator Bernardi drew the Senate's attention to the fact that the International Climate Change Conference was headed, until very recently, by former Fijian coup leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
