Bernardi blasts dithering PM

June 15, 2018

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi has slammed Malcolm Turnbull after the Prime Minister’s insipid reaction to news of historic and persistent child sex-abuse in the Northern Territory after the PM reacted by saying the Territory government hadn’t done enough.

The rape of a two-year-old girl in Tennant Creek four months ago happened after the girl and her family were subject to 52 notifications to child protection authorities in the 16 years leading up to the rape, but the girl remained in the care of her mother.

Senator Bernardi has told Ben Fordham on Sky News immediate intervention by the federal government is needed, and that includes removing children from abusive parents if necessary.
