The Conservative Party’s WA Senate candidate, Jonathan Crabtree writes:
“It was curious to read the Greens candidate for O'Connor (April 19) commit to 100 percent renewable energy in less than 11 years without mentioning the costs involved or explaining how such a transition is even possible technically.
If actually implemented, such a radical policy would lead to far higher energy costs and more unreliable power supply. These costs would be borne by WA businesses and households.
It was also curious to hear the Greens candidate talk about ecological collapse but fail to mention his party's support for a 'Big Australia'. Most people will understand that a much bigger population means a much larger environmental impact, more pollution and more pressure on resources.
At this forthcoming federal election, I urge Esperance and O'Connor voters to elect to the Senate candidates with reasonable, coherent positions and policies.
We desperately need more people in Canberra prepared to bring back common sense.”
