Australian Conservatives don't horse-trade with your money

March 27, 2018

Australian Conservatives founder and South Australian Senator Cory Bernardi has explained why he immediately supported the Coalition Government's company tax cuts without trying to horse-trade with them for expensive concessions.

Senator Bernardi has told Peter van Onselen on Stan Grant's 'Matter of Fact' program on ABC TV about the approach he and other future Conservatives senators will take to business tax relief, Bill Shorten's retiree tax grab and its impact on superannuation.

"There's always an opportunity to extract a pound of flesh but that's not how we operate... I want to act by principle. If I think something's right I'll support it, if I think it's wrong, I'll try and improve it or I won't support it," he said
