Anning amplified by Coalition's migration policy vacuum

August 16, 2018

The Turnbull government is to blame for a vacuum of genuine immigration debate into which Katter's Australia Party senator Fraser Anning (pictured) waded controversially this week.

In his speech to the Senate, Senator Anning praised the 'White Australia' policy, called for an end to Muslim migration, and invoked the historically-loaded and controversial term “final solution”.

Senator Bernardi has told Sky News, the blame lies squarely at the feet of Malcolm Turnbull's government for failing to deal with the problems associated with mass immigration.
