Merge ABC and SBS, save $1bn a year ... Conservatives launch National Broadcasting policy

Australian Conservatives have launched their policy on national broadcasting on the eve of a critical vote on media reform, saying "The media sector in Australia and around the world is undergoing significant disruption and national, taxpayer-funded broadcasting cannot be insulated from these changes

The policy calls for the ABC and SBS to be merged, and then their collective budget significantly reduced, saving $1 billion taxpayer dollars a year.
