ABC Board Chairman Justin Milne (pictured) has resigned after crisis talks this morning as the Labor Party declared it no longer has confidence in him.
The Daily Telegraph reports, Labor and the Greens are calling for a Senate inquiry into reports Mr Milne called for two ABC journalists, economics reporter Emma Alberici and politics reporter Andrew Probyn, to be sacked following complaints from then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says he fears that inquiry will be highly politicised which would cast doubt on its value.
Senator Bernardi has told the ABC's Sabra Lane he's understands concern about uncovering exactly what went on in the ABC in recent weeks but he's not confident a Senate inquiry led by the Greens and Labor would be balanced and impartial.
