A Halal of a lot of money

April 12, 2018

Australian Conservatives founder Cory Bernardi says Halal certification in Australia costs consumers a great deal of money and certifiers hardly anything and what’s worse is we don’t know who many of the domestic Halal certifiers are.

Alan Jones on Sky News has told Senator Bernardi some abattoirs are being charged more than $12,000 annually for certification while others are being charged $25,000 and in some instances the Halal products are being certified many times, so this is a bonanza for certifies who are simply profiteering.
